$38m Of Sales Analysed

The Daily Vroom

Good morning Vroomers,

Wow, I'm so grateful for all the amazing responses you guys sent my way about Saturday's surprise edition of The Daily Vroom. I really appreciate it! Just to be clear, it's not going to become a regular thing, (I need my downtime ) but sometimes the urge to share some juicy sale numbers with you is just too strong to resist! Thanks again for all the feedback, you guys rock!

So let’s get right to it and see what happened last week and what a week it was in the online car auction world.

Just over $38m of sales with an average sale just shy of $44,000, which is up on the previous week by over $3m!

TOP 10 AUCTION PLATFORMS LAST WEEK

Many of you asked to see the numbers from more platforms, so here you go.

No shockers about who's leading the pack. The top three sites are crushing it in terms of volume, as you might have expected. But you know what's a head-scratcher? Hagerty. With their heavyweight brand name and the huge footprint they've got in the classic car biz, you'd think they'd be setting the internet on fire. But somehow, they're not hitting the mark. I've got a few guesses why, but let's save that juicy discussion for a later chat.

This data also points out the top-selling model on each site. Handy to know, right? If you're thinking about buying or selling a particular model, this info could steer you towards the best platform.

Now, something that's not on the chart, but definitely worth mentioning, came out from the thorough analysis I've conducted. Last week, Mercedes-Benz took the trophy for being the top seller, trailed closely by BMW and Porsche. Always interesting to see which brands are leading the pack in the race, isn't it? So, there you have it – a bit of in-depth stat digging from yours truly.

*for those that ask, I have analysed the sales number for all other sites, but they consistently don’t sell anywhere near the numbers that the above 10 do.

TOP 10 SALES LAST WEEK

2019 FORD GT – $953,000 BaT

Last week there were only two platforms who are featured in the top 10 most expensive cars. They are Bring A Trailer (6 of the top 10) & Collecting Cars who had an excellent week in terms of average sale price . My favorite was the 1994 Porsche 911, below. which to me is a special special car.

10 NO RESERVE AUCTIONS

Ending this week. Handpicked just for you, we're talking about 10 No Reserve Auctions from 10 unique websites. But wait, it gets even better – we've got 10 diverse makes on the list, and every single one of them is a car I'd jump at the chance to drive!

Underneath each picture you will see the name of the car. If you click on the name it will take you directly to the auction.
