Vroomers, today's spotlight shines bright on a nearly new marvel of engineering and design – the 2023 McLaren Artura, dressed in a stunning Blue Aurora factory color that's sure to turn heads and ignite passions. This isn't just any supercar; it's a vivid dream on wheels, boasting a blend of raw power and sleek aesthetics that only McLaren can deliver.

Under the hood lies a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine, enhanced by an electric motor, delivering a heart-pounding 680hp and 720Nm of torque. This powerhouse can dash from 0-100km/h in a mere 3.0 seconds, with a top speed capped at an electrifying 330km/h. And for those moments when silence is golden, it glides up to 30 kilometers on pure electric power.

But the Artura isn't just about speed; it's about peace of mind, too. It comes with a transferable McLaren three-year warranty until 2026, and a five-year maintenance contract until 2028. With just 2,418 kilometers clocked, this French-registered beauty is as fresh as they come. Plus, for those who can, it’s a VAT-qualifying / tax-deductible gem, making the financial thrill just as exciting as the drive.

Decked out with a gloss black front splitter, rear diffusers, and a host of luxurious features including Clubsport seats, a sports exhaust, and the practicality pack, this Artura is ready to conquer roads and hearts. Its Alcantara interior, paired with dark grey and aluminium trim inlays, sets a cabin of unparalleled comfort and style, while the premium 12-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system ensures your soundtrack matches your speed.

Fresh from its running-in service in November 2023, this McLaren Artura is primed and ready for its next adventure. Will you be the one behind the wheel, experiencing the blend of exhilarating performance and breathtaking aesthetics?

Alumni Catchup

Below are the top 5 Alumni auctions yesterday. The arrows in the diagram below show whether the car’s last bid was higher or lower than the previous sale.

Thanks to a request from a community member, we’ve now also added the year of the original sale. That way you can see some real market perspective.

In our latest update from the Alumni auctions, we can report that 5 of the 8 vehicles listed just yesterday have already found their new homes. Only two of these sales were on a No Reserve basis.

There's clearly one standout story that demands our attention: the Turbocharged 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ45 Diesel Camper Conversion, which surprisingly didn't sell at $30k.

Purchased by the seller in February 2023 for a hefty $52k, they've since invested in significant upgrades including the brake master cylinder, load-sensing valve, transfer case output seal, and emergency brake shoes. The motivation behind the sale? Simply put, the seller's garage was overflowing, and this beauty was the least driven. Flashback to a year ago, before these enhancements, and this same vehicle sparked a bidding frenzy, leading the seller to drop the reserve at $43k.

Interestingly, although auctions typically attract attention post-closing, this one garnered 'only' 11,000 views, a stark contrast to its previous 23,000 from the original listing. This statistic alone has piqued my curiosity.

Feedback from several sellers suggests a downward trend in listing views compared to past years, which seems unrelated to the site's overall traffic – which, by the way, is significant. My hunch? It could be that with so many listings now, individual ones might get a bit lost. This is why I've previously mentioned that BaT might benefit from a UX overhaul, making it simpler for users to find exactly what they're looking for.

*I just had a look at the other two Alumni listings that didn’t sell and both of them had half the views from their previous listing.

I also took a moment to check out the top-selling Alumni listing from yesterday – a 2008 BMW M5 that closed at $40k, marking a $5k decrease from its original sale in 2022. Interestingly, this listing attracted only 1000 fewer views than it did originally.

This is a trend I plan to keep an eye on and share updates about. While it might appear concerning, the fact that nearly 200 vehicles sold in just two days suggests it's not a critical issue. However, I'm pretty sure that a UX improvement could significantly increase their sales volume. But let's not rush to conclusions; I'll continue to monitor upcoming sales and eagerly await your feedback.

BMW M3 Coupe Sales Analyzed

In the bustling world of car sales, it's easy to get swept up in the tales of high-profile auctions and six-figure price tags. Yet, for the majority of transactions, the reality is much more grounded. On platforms where the daily count of car sales exceeds 180, a mere 10-15 might reach into the echelons of six figures, leaving the lion's share of transactions at far more accessible price points. It's this very notion of accessibility that often goes unnoticed, overshadowed by the allure of premium sales.

At The Daily Vroom, we’re dedicated to highlighting every corner of the market, with a particular spotlight on those models that represent the average price point — a segment of the market that truly resonates with the majority of buyers. Take, for instance, the BMW M3 Coupe. Far from being a frequent flyer in the high-profile sale arena, it's a model that embodies the more accessible side of the market, with an average sale price of $32,706 so far this year.

The M3 Coupe, while not the subject of six-figure headlines, holds a special place in the hearts of car enthusiasts. It strikes a fine balance between performance, style, and affordability. The Daily Vroom is all about shedding light on these kinds of vehicles — the ones that you might actually park in your garage. So let’s take a little closer look at the sales so far this year.

It’s not a real surprise that BaT and Cars & Bids dominate the sales. In fact Cars & Bids sold this one yesterday for $27,250.

Below you can see how many sales have happened in the first 3 months and which (major) platforms are selling them.

The 2002 M3 just edges out the other years as the most favorable year in terms of sales. Below is one of the top selling 2002 models sold for $40,000 on PCarMarket.

BaT dominate the higher end of the sales for the M3, as showcased below. The middle range cars are more evenly spread amongst different platforms.

Tuesdays have this uncanny knack for turning into an M3 wonderland – it’s as if these models have a secret pact with the day itself to find their new homes then. Why Tuesdays, you ask? Well, your guess is as mystifying as mine!
