The Daily Vroom

Good morning Vroomers,
It’s 11.38pm here on Sunday. I’ve been working on this newsletter for a number of days, so here’s hoping you enjoy it!
Today I had a little break taking my young un’s to the California Science Centre, well worth a visit if you’re in LA – that space shuttle Endeavor is mighty impressive. Anyways I digress…
Chart Day is here! It’s time for a deep analysis of last months sales. I've taken a closer look back at August's numbers.
The results? Some pretty eye-catching trends and insights.
For this edition:
-
I'm giving you a bird's-eye view of the market first.
-
Then, I've split the analysis by major platforms. This way, you can jump right to the stats of your favorite platform without any fuss.
-
As always, with each chart, there's a quick note to guide you through.
There's so much more we can explore together. Drop a comment or shoot a message on what else you'd like to see.

The highlight of the month was undoubtedly the 1976 Porsche 934 Race Car. Its distinct allure and celebrated history crowned it as the top sale of the month, fetching a remarkable $1,550,000.

The 1958 Ferrari Testa Rossa ️, an emblematic vehicle recognized for its potent performance and timeless aesthetics, secured a notable $800,000.

Steering our focus away from the obvious highlights, an intriguing find emerged. The 427 fe Side-Oiler-Powered Superformance GT40 MKII from Ford stood out as a significant sale. This particular Superformance GT40 MKII is a right-hand-drive model ordered in 2004 and delivered to its first owner in 2007. Before I delve into the insights for August, I want to clarify that my analysis covers more online auction websites than those listed below. However, I have chosen to focus on the platforms that have substantial sales data for the insights I'll be sharing.
Please be assured that even the smaller auction websites have contributed to the overall numbers and are considered in the comprehensive analysis.
I have also refrained from including any cars sold post-auction in the figures you're about to see. I'm adhering strictly to reporting only those sales that occurred prior to the auction's conclusion. It's worth noting that many websites work diligently to secure car sales even after the auction has ended and some don’t bother!!

In recent months, the top 5 car makes have consistently maintained their leading positions. What was surprising to me, however, is the growing popularity of Jaguar, who moved up from number 10 last month to number 7 this month. So let’s have a quick look at Jaguar’s sales in a little more detail.

Jaguar Sales Insights for August:
Jaguar's Jewels: Jaguars have always been associated with luxury and performance. In August, the E-Type and XJ were the most sought-after models, capturing the essence of Jaguar's design and engineering prowess.
 Platforms Galore:

Bring A Trailer was at the forefront, selling 55 Jaguars.
-

-
Bonhams Online also played a significant role with 12 Jaguar vehicles auctioned.
-
