YESTERDAY’S SALES

27th June Sales

Yesterday's sales data saw only four websites moving more than 10 cars each. While I keep track of all auction sites, the activity varied elsewhere – PCarMarket sold 4 cars, AutoHunter 3, Hemmings 6, and Hagerty only 1.

Compared to last Tuesday, total sales saw a significant rise across the board, the only exception being BaT, which saw a $1 million dip. The increase can be primarily attributed to a higher number of listings. However, only BaT and Cars & Bids managed to stand out with their impressive sell-through rates.

NEARLY SALE OF THE DAY

 2021 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500

This showstopper Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500, radiantly cloaked in Obsidian Black Metallic, was bid up to a cool $166,750!

Equipped with a 3.0L Turbodiesel V6 engine, automatic transmission, and just ~800 miles on the odometer, this Sprinter is virtually fresh off the lot.

The highlight of this luxury van is its custom lounge-style interior. From a second A/C unit, lavish brown leather upholstery, to seven-passenger seating including four heated and ventilated captain's chairs, it has everything to pamper you and your passengers. And who can overlook the center console with an integrated cooler? ️

Not to mention, the van also features two 4K Apple TVs and an aftermarket audio system for the tech enthusiasts.

The Sprinter, built on the celebrated second-generation platform renowned in construction and leisure sectors, is not just about the interiors. It sports a high-roof configuration, a sliding passenger-side rear door, and comfortable cloth front seat upholstery.

Interestingly, this Canadian-spec van is soaking up the sun in Florida! ➡️

My Perspective

While this luxury lounge on wheels has undeniable appeal, it seems the market isn't quite ready to meet the seller's expectations.

Interestingly, a similar model in February had reached a bid of $167,000 on another auction site but didn't quite seal the deal. Earlier, in September 2022, another Sprinter hit $127,000, yet didn't cross the finish line.

These instances might suggest a pattern of the market's resistance towards the higher price point for this model, leading to a pattern of "nearly sales." The market is ever-changing, and as trends and preferences evolve, so does the perceived value of unique vehicles like this 2021 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500.

**Countach! This Lamborghini is a Showstopper!**

Picture this, it's 1982, and the place is the Geneva Motor Show. Cue the smoke machines, the spotlights, and… here comes the piece de resistance: a pristine, Bianco (that's Italian for white) Lamborghini Countach LP500 S. It's the first of its kind, and the crowd goes wild.

This wasn't just any car show. This was Geneva, and Lamborghini was ready to shake the world. This Countach was a cutting-edge response to Ferrari’s 512 BB. Lamborghini was ready to give Ferrari a run for their money, and boy, did they deliver!

This Countach is more than just a gorgeous machine; it's a globetrotter! Born in Italy, it traveled to Germany before making its way across the pond to the good ol' USA. Once stateside, this Italian beauty was snapped up by none other than Carlos Cavazo, lead guitarist of the band Quiet Riot. Cue the metal music!

For 35 years, this Lambo was Cavazo's pride and joy. He even swapped the original Weber carburetors for fuel injection to keep it purring like a kitten. As of 2021, after a pit stop in a Californian auto shop, this stunner was given a new lease on life.

Here's a fun fact for you car geeks out there: The Lamborghini Countach was designed by none other than Marcello Gandini, who was also responsible for the Miura and the Diablo. Gandini worked for the design house Bertone, which has given the world some of the most iconic car designs. What a pedigree, right?

Fast forward to today, and this legendary Lamborghini Countach LP500 S found a new home at an auction. It sold for an eye-watering $563,000! But hey, who can put a price on such an iconic piece of automotive history? Especially when it has a rock and roll story to tell!

So, there you have it folks, a little slice of car history and a reminder that some machines are more than just nuts and bolts – they're rolling works of art, and in this case, a rockstar! ️

EVERY MASERATI & LAMBORGHINI UP FOR AUCTION

Get ready to set your sights on the crème de la crème of Italian engineering as we dive into the world of Maserati and Lamborghini auctions coming up in the next week. ️

Every car has a personality, a spirit, and these Italian marques, well, they're the kind of cars that strut rather than roll into a room. I mean, who wouldn't have their heads turned by a Maserati purring its way down the street? It's like a finely tuned orchestra with an engine for a conductor! ️

Maserati has always been about precision, performance, and a certain kind of understated elegance. Every model they've rolled out carries with it a century-old legacy of race-bred engineering and design brilliance. Getting behind the wheel of a Maserati, it's not just about driving, it's about experiencing automotive artistry.

On the other hand, when it comes to Lamborghini, subtlety was never part of their vocabulary! Lambos are born from the raw passion of Ferruccio Lamborghini himself. They scream audacity and aggression, with lines and curves that look like they've been ripped right out of a science fiction movie. These bulls aren't just about going fast, they're about making a statement, and boy, do they do it well!

Underneath each picture you will see the name of the car. If you click on the name it will take you directly to the auction.
