RECORD BREAKING AUCTION SALES

Have you ever been curious about the upper echelons of the auction car market? The crème de la crème of automotive sales? Well, let me enlighten you with some of the latest figures.

The highest price ever paid for a car on any auction website is a staggering $5,360,000 for a 161-Mile 2017 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta. And, to no one's surprise, the sale was made on Bring A Trailer in May 22.

Bring A Trailer has also had an impressive track record, selling 65 cars over $1 million in the last two years, dwarfing its closest competitor Collecting Cars, which has sold only 11 cars over $1m. Meanwhile, Doug Demuro's (is it still Doug's?) Cars & Bids have yet to reach the million-dollar mark, with their highest sale being $451K for a 2022 Lamborghini.

In the last two months alone, there have been 10 sales of cars worth over $1 million, a testament to the ever-growing auction car market. However, no car has sold for more than $2 million in that time. Could we be on the brink of another record-breaking sale? Only time will tell.
