The Daily Vroom
Good morning Vroomers!
Another slow day ($3.8m vs average $5m) in sales across the board makes January feel like the used car market—off to a soft start for the year.
Sure, last Monday was a holiday, so it makes sense that auctions seven days later would feel a bit light compared to a typical Monday, just see the sale numbers below.
Let’s take a closer look at BaT, the market leader. Last year, they were regularly auctioning 120-130+ cars per day, with most days in Q4 seeing over 100 cars sold. Right now, they’ve got ‘just’ 622 auctions lined up over the next 7 days—that’s about 88 listings a day, and that includes non-vehicle items.
So, is this just a slow start to the year for them? Could be. There’s a LOT going on behind the scenes over there—plenty to unpack another time. It might also just be the typical seasonal lull, with weather and live auction schedules (see Scottsdale BJ results here) playing their part in keeping certain cars off the market.
Speaking of BaT, they’re clearly pushing hard in Europe this year as we covered last week with the shop of 1600Veloce opening in Germany.
Nothing shows their commitment to Europe quite like launching a brand-new Facebook page dedicated to European listings. They are also actively promoting through paid ads three Europe-based auctions, two of which close today.
Interestingly, their ads seem to be getting the most views in Portugal and Romania—even though the cars are in the Netherlands and Germany!
Feels like someone needs to have a chat with their marketing team about better targeting.

MARKET LEADERBOARD
💰 The figures shared below don’t count any other sales such as car seats, memorabilia etc… All online auction sites are analyzed to put this leaderboard together.
I only include websites that have sold 5+ vehicles in the chart below.
Yes those numbers are real for BaT.

Sale of the Day
Normally, I like to spotlight cars that are a steal for the buyer. This one’s a little different—it's a solid deal all around but might slightly favor the buyer here. Why? Because the winning bidder is a dealer, and let’s be honest—he knows there’s some margin to flip this beauty for a profit.
I recognized the name too—this is the same buyer who snagged a 6k-mile 2001 Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0 last week on another site for $691K. Clearly, this dealer knows what he’s doing.
This 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 sold for $116,498, and with just under 31k miles, a clean Carfax, and some well-chosen mods (like a GMG Racing exhaust and a roll cage), it’s a strong buy. Not to mention, it’s Southern-owned, accident-free, and still rocking its factory-fresh white-on-black color combo.
If you ask me, the new engine replacement (done at 26k miles) only sweetens the deal—this GT3 is ready for both the track and the showroom floor. A good move all around.

Auctions To Keep An Eye On
Today, no bargains to highlight—just some good old beautiful cars, and this 911 S/T is exactly that. Finished in the jaw-dropping Auratium Green, a color pulled straight from Porsche's 1950s playbook, this is more than just a car—it’s a piece of art celebrating 60 years of the 911.
What makes it cool? For starters, it’s one of only 1,963 examples produced and packs a 4.0L flat-six from the GT3 RS, paired with a 6-speed manual. Add in the carbon fiber body panels, the retro-inspired Heritage Design Package, and only 102 miles on the clock, and you’ve got a perfect blend of Porsche’s past and future.
This one’s for the purists—lightweight, naturally aspirated, and raw. The manual transmission alone makes it a standout in the modern era of PDK dominance. With bids sitting at $550,000, this is a serious collector’s piece. If you love the details and exclusivity, this might just be your holy grail.
This 2021 Ford GT Carbon Series is back on the block after selling in December 2023 for $975,000. It’s gained exactly one extra mile since, and now it’s listed at no reserve—that’s gutsy!
Right now, the bidding has stalled at $901,000 with no action for the last five days. The big question: Will it climb back to its previous sale price—or higher—in the final stretch today?
Spec-wise, it’s as desirable as they come: Frozen White paint with Competition Orange stripes, a Carbon Graphics Package, titanium exhaust, and just 16 miles on the clock. Combine that with its no-reserve status, and this auction promises some serious last-minute fireworks. Let’s see if the gamble pays off for the seller!
