MARKET LEADERBOARD
The figures shared below don’t count any other sales such as car seats, memorabilia etc..
I only include websites that have sold 5+ cars in the chart below.

The online market witnessed a notable improvement yesterday, registering sales of $6.5m, a rise from $5.2m on the day prior. This surge can be attributed in part to Bring A Trailer, which saw its sales jump from $3.5m to $4.4m. Additionally, Cars & Bids also experienced an uptick, reaching $719K in sales. And Collecting Cars sold close to $1m worth of cars.

TOP 5 SALES OF THE DAY

A Curious Case at the Sotheby's Motorsport Auction

Yesterday, the new platform Sotheby's Motorsport hosted an auction for a 2022 Maserati MC20. The auction drew to a close with a final bid of $210,000, and notably, there was no activity in the bidding during the last 48 hours. This sale has piqued my interest for a few reasons.
Firstly, the final bid of $210,000 seems unusually low for such a model. Given the recent sales trends, where similar vehicles with even lower mileage went for $250,000 and $262,000, this sale appears to be quite the steal for the buyer.
Moreover, Sotheby's Motorsport stands out as the only online platform that levies charges on both the buyer and the seller. With the seller incurring a 2.5% fee, their takeaway from this sale is just shy of $205,000.
Considering the pedigree of the car, the platform's unique fee structure, and the recent sales trends, there's a lingering question: Why did this Maserati MC20 sell at such a discounted rate? It's a situation worth delving deeper into, as the numbers, at first glance, don't seem to add up.

Mercedes-Benz AMG: A Legacy of Performance

Mercedes-AMG, often referred to simply as AMG, stands as the high-performance subsidiary of the iconic Mercedes-Benz brand. Established in 1967 by Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher, the brand has its roots in Großaspach, Germany. AMG initially focused on designing and testing racing engines. Today, it represents the pinnacle of performance and luxury, seamlessly combining the two into vehicles known for their speed, agility, and elegance. ️✨

COMMUNITY CORNER
Here’s a question I received yesterday:
I receive emails from Marqued referencing cars currently available via their auction site. There are very few cars offered, and most are in Maryland.
Question: Is this a viable and legitimate auction site? It seems odd that so few cars are presented, and of them, most in Maryland.
Jim
My answer:
Marqued Auctions, with its backing from Porsche Digital Inc. are a reputable company and have been around for circa 18 months.
My take on their approach is that they might have leaned towards producing 'high-end' content, rather than concentrate on their bread and butter which is listing and selling cars.
As for the prevalence of Maryland listings, it appears that a notable dealer in that region is most likely supplying many of the vehicles they have for auction. Currently there is just 1 car up for auction on the site, so I’m not sure how much longer they’ll be around for .
