The Daily Vroom

Happy Monday Vroomers!
A warm welcome to our newest members who hopped on board over the weekend. We're on the brink of hitting the 10,000 subscribers mark, and this is just the beginning!
For those that don’t know me, I'm Sam Gold founder of The Daily Vroom, I’m based in Los Angeles. If you're nearby, I'd love to connect and share a coffee ☕️. Let's chat!
Here’s what I’m covering in today’s issue:
Sales last week – who’s up and who’s down
PistonHeads results – second auction results
Last weeks summary – what’s selling and by whom
‘87 Porsche 959 Komfort – bidding already at $1.4m
Vroomy reads – roundup of all the latest car news

SALES LAST WEEK
The figures shared below account only for auction-time sales. Any post-auction deals (nice hustle!) aren't included in our weekly total. I also don’t count any other sales such as car seats, memorabilia etc..
I only include websites that have sold 15+ cars in the chart below.

It's intriguing to observe that even as sales numbers have risen, the total dollar volume of these sales has actually decreased. Last week, the combined value of vehicles sold was just a touch above $38 million. This is slightly down from the $40 million we noted the week before and $42.5m the week before that. Is th
Bring A Trailer's contribution to this was just over $25 million, which, when compared to their previous week's figure of $26 million, shows a slight decline. With Cars & Bids, although the number of cars sold did slightly increase the value of cars sold has gone down from $4m to $3.4m.
If you read my previous post on ”Hagerty sales numbers under the microscope,” you will have read that over the course of the year, sales have steadily increased. However the last few weeks, sales have slightly declined in terms of numbers and in terms of values of cars sold. Will be interesting to see if they can get back on the sales train. Of course as always, I’ll be reporting back my findings right here.

PistonHeads Second Auction Results

Back at it, reporting on PistonHeads 2nd week auction results. For those who don’t know of PistonHeads, they launched a new auction platform in the UK a few week back.
Unfortunately, none of the four auctions resulted in a sale, I think! One auction is showing a final bid of £32,000, but when you click through to it, the listing does not say whether it was a sale or not- it’s a little confusing. Suffice to say, it’s been a slow start for PistonHeads, with no sales thus far. Let’s hope this week sales start to hit home.
All in all, I'm rooting for them and will continue to observe their listings and outcomes, updating you as things progress.

The Majestic 1987 Porsche 959 Komfort: A USA-Sport Marvel

I'm in love!!! The 1987 Porsche 959 USA-Sport is up for auction this week . This isn't just any Porsche 959; it's one of the rare USA-sport models, making it even more special. Out of the few that were produced, only 31 were USA-sports, contrasting sharply with the 8 EURO-sports – talk about exclusivity!
With bidding already soaring beyond $1.4 million , let's delve deeper into what makes this ride an uber-cool rarity:
Originating from Porsche's illustrious era, this 959 isn't just any car; it's a symbol of opulence, speed, and unparalleled exclusivity . Its foundation echoes detailed craftsmanship, epitomizing Porsche's relentless pursuit of perfection. This particular model, one of only 292 crafted between 1986 and 1988, has been cherished by a select few owners, each ensuring its immaculate preservation .

At its core lies a magnificent 2,849cc M959/50 quad-cam flat-six engine, reminiscent of the powertrains seen in the legendary 956 and 962 race cars. Armed with sequential twin turbochargers and a suite of elite features, this powerhouse claims a staggering 444 horsepower .
Its illustrious history is as captivating as its specifications . From its inaugural collection at the factory in 1988, its passage through esteemed owners, to its recent upgrades like the Canepa 959SC suspension transformation, this vehicle has been nurtured with an unmatched passion ❤️.
Given its rich legacy and the current auction trajectory, I'm putting my money on the bidding needing to touch at least $1.7 million for this masterpiece to find a new home . Adorned in its radiant Guard Red hue, plush black leather interiors, and equipped with every conceivable luxury feature, this Porsche 959 is a rare treasure that has collectors around the globe setting their sights on it .
